Rev. Fr. Dr. Varghese Velickakam is the Vice President and former Director of the Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS), Imphal, and currently serves as the Vicar General and Procurator of the Archdiocese of Imphal. Holding a Doctorate in Social Work, he is widely recognized as a pioneer of organized social work and community development in the Archdiocese. With over three decades of leadership, he has spearheaded initiatives in sustainable agriculture, rural livelihoods, women and child empowerment, disaster response, peacebuilding, and social justice. He has strengthened partnerships with government agencies, civil society organizations, and development partners, significantly expanding the reach and impact of DSSS across Manipur. His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to sustainable, inclusive, and community-driven development continue to empower vulnerable communities and promote resilient, self-reliant societies.
