To be announced

DSSS Imphal

Raising awareness among fish farmers through expert guidance on sustainable aquaculture practices, fish health, and livelihood development.

The awareness programme brought together fish farmers from different communities to learn about modern and sustainable aquaculture techniques. Experts shared practical knowledge on pond preparation, water quality management, fish nutrition, and disease prevention to improve productivity and ensure healthy fish cultivation.

Participants were introduced to improved farming practices that help increase fish production while protecting the environment. The sessions encouraged responsible use of natural resources and highlighted the importance of maintaining ecological balance for long-term sustainability.

Interactive discussions allowed farmers to share their experiences, challenges, and best practices. Resource persons provided practical solutions to common issues such as fish diseases, seasonal management, feed selection, and market accessibility, enabling participants to make informed decisions.

The programme also focused on enhancing livelihood opportunities by promoting entrepreneurship and income generation through scientific fish farming. Participants gained valuable insights into improving production efficiency, reducing operational costs, and accessing government support schemes available for aquaculture development.

By strengthening the knowledge and skills of local fish farmers, the initiative contributes to sustainable rural development, improved food security, and increased household income while encouraging environmentally responsible aquaculture practices.
